Why are sakura or cherry blossoms so important in Japan? – Hanami

The cherry blossoms in Japan are a symbol of how ephemeral and beautiful life can become and that is the main reason why they are so important. Therefore, it became a whole tradition, the so-called hanami (花見) which means observing the cherry blossoms.

It is a beautiful event that people from all over the world come exclusively to Japan to that. That is why, one of the best seasons to visit this country is in the time of cherry blossoms. But remember to check the dates that vary from year to year.

The first photo is for the Ichigaya area in Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan and is not a tourist place to observe them, rather it is a road that I take occasionally and I had to capture it for that very reason. The following photos are from Ueno Park, at the end of the post I leave the information of the place in case they want to go as it is really worth it.

There is one thing that managed to hit me a little more, besides the beauty of the flowers and the mesmerizing that can be to see them fall as if it were a dream where nothing else exists but oneself. And, is that, the Japanese in spite of being born and grow here, they continue appreciating them when stopping a moment to observe them. Since living here for more than a year, I could realize that it is a fast-paced lifestyle and always with the eyes fixed forward but the cherry blossoms are an exception that not anyone can let them go unnoticed.

The last five photographs are from the Nakameguro area, this place is recommended to go at night as they light the lanterns and the view of the flowers is incomparable. In addition, there are many small venues that offer different types of food and drink to enjoy the view with a good taste.
