On October 26, 2017 were the Drama Awards in Tokyo at the Prince Tokyo Hotel at 3:00 p.m. and I was fortunate to attend this great event for the group of Tourism Ambassadors in Japan. Unfortunately I could not take photos since it was forbidden but I could fully enjoy the event without having to worry about that.

The most exciting thing for me was that after the event, I was able to see up close, just a few steps away from two of my favorite artists: Yui Aragaki and Riisa Naka. I remained motionless for a moment. Other artists who also attended were Masato Sakai, Masao Kusakari, Gen Hoshino and Ogoe Yuki. The others were producers, directors, scriptwriters, among others.

The main dramas that won are the following:

  1. The Full Time Escapist: A slightly different story in which a professional woman, Mikuri Moriyama, can not find work but starts working for Hiramasa Tsuzaki as a housewife. But everything changes with a marriage proposal as if it were a job offer. The main theme of the series “Koi” was very honored, especially for the dance.
  2. Midnight Diner: Tokyo Stories: The series airs on Netflix and is about a restaurant with unusual work hours from 12 am to 7 am. The visitors go with the ‘Master’ since he prepares whatever they ask and they initiate conversation, that is where they find tranquility for their soul and stomach.
  3. Cold Case Japan: It is the series with the same name as the Americana but related to exclusive Japanese events. One of the favorite chapters was the one of the Lockheed bribery scandal, being a world news when relating it to politicians and businessmen from all over the world.

Thanks to this event I was able to meet several artists and new series that caught my attention, so much so that they are on my list to see.

Questions: Have you heard of this event? Who would you like to see in person? What is your favorite drama and why do you recommend it?
